Test a table QR code from a guest's phone before putting it on the table. A successful test opens the correct location, table and available menu in the Karma guest experience.
Verify the table connection
- Open Tables → Table Overview.
- Open the table you want to test.
- Confirm that the table's QR code is shown at the top of the page. If a warning appears instead, the location needs a public Storefront web address before any table QR code works.
- If you use a table map, open Tables → Table Map, select the table shape and verify its Table Reference points to the same table, so staff open the right tab when they tap it.
If staff see a warning that a map table is not linked to a storefront QR code, assign a valid table reference in the map.
Preview as a guest
- Select the QR code on the table's page and choose Download QR code, or Open storefront to open the guest page directly. To download every table's code at once, use Download images (.zip) in the menu on Table Overview.
- Scan it with a phone that is not signed in as a staff user.
- Confirm the page shows the correct location and table.
- Check that the expected menus and items are visible.
- Add a low-cost test item and continue to checkout to verify the ordering journey. If you complete a real test order, confirm it reaches the POS or kitchen display, then refund it from Payments → Payment History.
If an item is missing
Check the item under Items & Menu → Inventory. It must be visible, available for the current location and schedule, included in the relevant menu, and in stock when limited stock is used. Also check the menus assigned to the table on its page: if none are selected, all menus are available. For a POS-managed catalogue, update source-owned fields in the connected POS and sync again.
If the QR opens the wrong table
Each QR code belongs to one table in Table Overview; the table map does not change where a code leads. Open the correct table in Table Overview, download its code again and replace the physical code. Test the final physical code after placing it on the table.
When to contact support
Include the location, printed table name, table opened by the code, phone/browser, time tested and a photo of the physical code. If possible, also include the QR destination with any sensitive tokens removed.
