A table map gives staff a visual view of the floor and connects each shape to a real Karma table. Build the map first, then verify each table reference before using it for service.
Create the floor plan
- Open Tables → Table Map.
- Enter edit mode and add or select a map layout.
- Use Add table for each service table.
- Add context with Add wall, Add icon, or Add text where it makes the plan easier to recognize.
- Drag items into place. Use zoom and fit-to-view to check the whole floor.
Changes to map items save as you edit them. Give Karma a moment to save before closing the page.
Connect each map table
- Select a table shape.
- Enter a clear Table name.
- Under Table Reference, select the real Karma table that this shape represents.
- Choose Square or Circle, then adjust size, seats and rotation.
- Repeat until every service table has the correct reference.
The table name helps staff recognize the shape. The table reference is what connects it to ordering, tabs and the storefront QR code.
Check the result
- Leave edit mode.
- Open two or three tables from the map and confirm the correct table details appear.
- If you use table QR ordering, confirm no table warns that its storefront QR code is missing or no longer exists.
- Scan a test QR code and place a harmless staging order before rolling the map out to staff.
If the map is hard to use
- Use fit-to-view if tables appear off-screen.
- Reduce decorative elements if the map feels crowded on a smaller POS device.
- Confirm you are editing the correct location and map layout.
- If a table opens the wrong tab, correct its Table Reference.
Karma does not currently provide a PDF export of the table map. Use the live map for service and the table QR export tools for physical codes.
When to contact support
Contact support if a saved map repeatedly disappears, a valid table reference opens the wrong tab, or a linked QR code still reports as missing. Include the location, map name, affected table name and reference, device and browser, and a screenshot of the finished layout.
