What is Karma?

Enhance guest experience with digital payments: Through Karma, a digital payment solution is offered that not only revitalizes the guest experience but also boosts your company's efficiency and profitability.

Smoother transactions: Karma reduces your costs with a fast and seamless digital payment process. This eliminates unnecessary wait times and reduces manual handling, freeing up valuable resources.

Increased customer loyalty: A smooth and modern payment process through Karma enhances customer satisfaction and builds loyalty. Satisfied customers lead to repeat business, directly impacting your revenues and securing a stable customer base.

Insight-driven business decisions with data analysis: Karma collects and analyzes data in real-time to provide insights into your customers' behaviors and preferences. This information enables informed decisions and strategies to maximize revenues and optimize your offerings.

Risk management and security: With the support of Adyen, Karma handles all types of card payments, and you can also activate Swish. Thanks to advanced encryption and security protocols, Karma ensures that all transactions are secure, reducing the risk of fraud and creating a safe environment for both businesses and customers.

New opportunities through partnerships: Karma opens the door to partnerships and collaborations with other companies and platforms. By integrating Karma into your business system, you can explore new business models and revenue streams.

Activate Swish as an alternative payment method

To activate Swish, you need to add Karma as a technical supplier to your existing 'Swish merchant agreement' (Swish-handelsavtal).

If you don't have one, it needs to be created and in that case, please contact your bank or read more on Swish's website.

If you have an existing merchant agreement, contact your bank and ask them to add Karma as a "TS" (Technical Supplier) to the agreement.

The bank will need a "TS number," which you can provide as follows:

Karma TS number: 9875809536

Once Karma has been added as a TS, Swish will notify us, we will then activate Swish as a payment method for your guests and inform you when this is done.

The setup is now complete!

How are payments registered?

Karma integrates with your current POS system Trivec. When a guest orders an item for payment via Karma, this payment is registered in your POS system. If the guest chooses to pay with Swish, provided that Swish is enabled, all payments will be registered under the payment method "Karma Swish". When guests pay with Swish, the payment goes directly to your bank account. This means that you pay the transaction fee to the bank and not to Karma. For Swish transactions, Karma only charges a commission fee.

We will send you a summary of Swish transactions once a month, along with an invoice to pay Karma's commission.

For all other payments, such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, etc.), or Amex, our payment service provider Adyen receives these payments and will then pay out the earned amount according to the chosen payout schedule (daily, weekly, or monthly). In these cases, these payments will be registered under the payment method "Karma Adyen".

To ensure that these registrations are also booked against the correct accounts, we ask you to provide us which bookkeeping accounts you prefer for each type of payment method (Karma Adyen/Karma Swish and Tip)

Know your customer (KYC)

As part of your setup process, you must complete a "Know Your Customer" (KYC) procedure. This is a way for our payment provider, Adyen, in accordance with 'Directive (EU) 2015/849 and Swedish anti-money laundering legislation,' to ensure that funds earned are indeed paid out to the rightful recipient.

Here is a comprehensive guide on how to proceed:

According to Adyen's terms, this must be completed no later than 25 days from the date of the first transaction made in Karma.

What happens if the KYC is not completed before the deadline?

According to the terms, if 25 days have passed since the first transaction made in Karma and the KYC has not been completed, all transactions made via Karma will be refunded to the guest. In this case, you are solely responsible for these refunds. You are welcome to contact support by emailing:

With every payout from Adyen made according to the desired payout frequency (daily, weekly, or monthly), a sales report is generated as a basis. This sales report can also be downloaded via KFB (Karma back office).

Using the OLAP function in Trivec (Reports), you can filter by the desired payment method to get a summary of transactions made via Karma. If you have further questions regarding reporting in Trivec, you can contact their support by emailing:

Regarding any errors/discrepancies

If you notice any discrepancies between the reports on received payments in Trivec and the actual payouts from Karma (Swish and/or Adyen), it is of utmost importance that you contact Karma's support team via email. To facilitate troubleshooting, it's important that you attach as much information as possible – amount, date, time, order number, receipt, etc.

Additional information/Billing email

It's important that we receive your email where you wish to have invoices sent to, i.e., billing email:

Also, please select your preferred payout frequency from Adyen. Choose between daily, weekly, and monthly. For daily or weekly payouts, there is an additional payout fee of four 4 SEK per payout
