According to the law, you must register your cash register and control unit with the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket). If you have multiple registers, each one must be registered as they have unique serial numbers. The registration must be done no later than two weeks after the first sale.

Once you have registered the cash register and control unit, you will receive a confirmation within two weeks. A registration certificate may take up to six weeks from the date of registration. You will also receive signs with identification numbers for both the cash register and the control unit. Attach these signs visibly and securely to each unit. If your cash register is such that the signs cannot be attached, you may keep them near the location where the cash register is used. You must also have a list of which units correspond to each sign.

When registering the cash register and control unit, you will need information about the register. This information will be sent to you via email once the cash register is set up.

  1. Go to the Swedish Tax Agency's website and click on Register, change, report errors, and deregister a cash register to log in.

2. Choose Login Method

3. Select the company you want to register the cash register for

4. Start by registering the control unit, click on "Register New Control Unit"

5. Retrieve the information from the email you received from us, fill in the details, and click on "Next" when you’re done.

6. Once the previous step is completed, you will see a page where you can verify that all the information is correct. Then, click on "Register Cash Register Unit to this Control Unit," and you will be directed to this view. Fill in the details about the cash register and complete the registration.
